Commuting
For it's residents, one of the appealing features of Marblehead is that it's a destination. Visitors come to Marblehead, not just to pass through, but to explore it's history and enjoy the scenery. Located on the coast, 18 miles northeast of Boston, Marblehead is accessed via route 114 or route 1A. With 83% of it's residents commuting to work, that commute is made easy by having access to the MBTA train station, located in Salem or Swampscott; with service to Boston's North Station. Some choose the subway located at Wonderland Station in Revere, or MBTA bus service and others choose the scenic drive by car. There is also access into the city via the Salem Ferry, a fun way to commute to work or for a trip into Boston with your family!
